ENGAGE YOUR HEART

When we talk
less ...
and listen more...
we engage our hearts.

Have you ever felt like someone you were talking to was more interested in hearing the sound of their own voice ?  Not very welcoming... It can give you the sense that you are not very important to them. It can also trigger insecurities lurking just beneath the surface of our own hearts, waiting to tear down our self confidence.

Your self worth should never come from someone else's ability to listen or "pick you up".

Why ? Because God says so...
God says you are loved...
absolutely cherished by Him who made you... and He is pleased with you.

When we look to the "world" for approval and self worth it will be fleeting and ultimately unrewarding.

There is one whom we can count on... one who remains faithful when the world falls away from us.  He is the friend who stands by us through all the trials.  Through the countless falls from grace...  this One ...

it is my Beloved Jesus who is Always right there with His hand outstretched waiting to pick me up again.  Without fail.

On the flip side;
Ever wonder if you do the same thing...

Its alright, promise.  We are all guilty, tho lets not condemn either okay ?  Looking in the mirror can be scary for sure.  But if we look through the eyes of grace its not so hard.

The bible tells us flat out that the hardest thing to do... is the taming of the tongue...

Its an ongoing battle that we all face.  The thing is ...

when we talk less and listen more, it engages our hearts...

When our ears are open to really hearing, a gentle grace opens the heart and flows...  judgmental attitudes fade...   and we speak a bit softer... with kinder words ...
we begin to see ourselves in another's eyes ...
thus we project more of our true nature, which is divine ...
and who we most desire to be ...
now we are better able to love each other...

Including the one in the mirror !

Take your time today... speak softly, slowly, deliberately. It helps to just breathe, and pause in between sentences. I know, it sounds a bit hippie-ish , chill dude give peace a chance and all :),  but hey, I a little chillin goes a long way...
Sometimes if we slow down our speech, we avoid saying things we cannot take back, nor the hurt they inflict.  It will also, most, importantly, allow Gods grace to more effectively flow through you. You will like yourself more and everyone around you will benefit from the grace emanating from you.

You can be graceful and gracious in every circumstance ... it begins in the mirror... through the heart... by Gods grace...

You are beautiful!

Lord I pray that Your grace would fill our hearts today and help us to see each other through Your tenderness.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
