Divine Love

Within each and every one of us lies a divine spark...
that light of God which is life, which is love.

That glorious thread connecting us to God our Father and to each other...

Learning to embrace this part of someone can be at times challenging. But learn this we must... for we are commanded to love one another as He first loved us...

When we allow ourselves to see through Gods eyes what do we find... we find light and love if we look for it.  Its in the "looking for it" that we struggle, not in the fact that it is not there.  That is our own illusion or more appropriately, disillusion...

I have found that through Gods grace and prayer it is possible to "see" the beauty within others even in very difficult situations. When I ask God to help me do this I am always rewarded with a burst of loving grace that swells within my heart and flows outward to the one whom I am praying for. This is not a special gift that belongs to me alone, but is a divine grace given to all.

Jesus taught us to, "love your neighbor as yourself..."  This is just a way that I have learned to enable myself to love when personally my heart might be filled with darkness' such as, disrespect, envy, pride etc. We are all subject to feelings like these, but we do not have to hold onto them,
"harming ourselves and our neighbor..."

God calls us to humility for a reason... it's the best way to see and esteem others in His amazing light and not our own limited view which is usually muddied with our own issues.

So the next time you find yourself having trouble liking, loving, forgiving or even accepting someone, try this out;

Father in heaven,
open my own heart, my own eyes, and my mind to see what You see in this precious child of Yours. I know that You love all of us and I'm having difficulty here, being Your light without seeing through my own judgmental attitudes. Please give me grace to see You in all people especially with the ones I have the greatest difficulties. Bless Your child and myself Lord, for we are all in need of Your grace. Reveal to me what I need to work on in myself to be able to be more like You, and more capable of loving Your beautiful child as well as myself.
I pray that Your love will flood the heart of Your child, heal them in all areas of their life, and help them to be all that You created them to be.
Father , please help me to shine Your light of love brightly to all of Your children upon the earth.

In Jesus name . Amen.

If you pray in this manner you will have honored your heavenly Father, first commandment, you will have honored your neighbor as well as yourself, second commandment... I do not believe that you can pray this way and not experience grace for you have now fulfilled Gods greatest commandments allowing His grace to flow to you, thru you, and touch all the people you pray for.

May the peace of the Lord our God be with you in all that you do and in every area of your life. May your heart be ever open to His call to love...
