Keys of wisdom to transform your life...
To unlock the awesome destiny God intended you to have...
When we recognize a greater authority than ourselves in our life, pride is cast out. We see our smallness, and our weaknesses by comparison necessitate modesty.
Bowing our heads and bending our knees becomes an outward expression of the inner acknowledgement of a power, a wisdom, a presence of one mightier than we.
Humility accepts this without harm to itself but rather with a respectful awe. A humble heart holds a dignity like no other attribute, a certain gracefulness where holiness resides.
A key ingredient to humility is gratitude.
Its greatest detriment is pride and self centerdness.
In a world that tends to measure self worth in terms of material wealth and stature, the attribute of humility can be a difficult one to foster. Some people have a natural dignity about them . An air of grace seems to emanate from these beautiful peown . I believe that
this inner light, beaming hope to the rest of us struggling students of grace, stems from a truly gracious heart, bearing a striking resemblance to Gods own...
For most this does not come easily, nor is it learned without great difficulty.
It is absolutely essential, at this most poignant of times in our spiritual growth that we , at all times, keep in the forefront of our minds, the reason for which we embarked upon this journey...
First, for the glory of God...
Secondarily, our eternal reward...
Lastly, the accomplishment of His holy will in our lives... which is...
Living out Gods Awesome Destiny for us.
To cultivate and grow in humility will more than likely constitute a dying to self or as some say, the crucifying of the flesh. Our will, or desires will now go to war with Gods will...
It is our sin nature that always wants to be "right" . We want to have things our way. This can be a time of painful separation of self in the natural. Perspective is needed here...
During this time we have the opportunity for the greatest increase in spiritual growth.
Mature faith is born in the grace of humility. Most often in the face of adversity...
Let us look to biblical history, to the people of faith that knew this best. After a time of surrendering their will, either by forced restrictions set by God, or by sublime grace,
their acceptance of Gods supreme will through humility, gained for them immeasurable rewards.
SEEK THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN WITHIN, FIRST AND ALL ELSE WILL BE ADDED UNTO YOU.
Repeatedly we hear the words of Jesus echoed by our biblical heroes, our champions of faith. Basically its a simple princle. At the same time it can be most difficult to employ.
For a practical example lets examine the practice of tithing. The giving of the first fruits of our increase. Nowadays the most common way is to give 10% of our paycheck to a God fearing charity. Yes, it must be a place that works in the name of God, that it may give Him the glory He so richly deserves. We honor God in this way for the 90% that He has already provided to us. This also serves as conditioning for us to grow in humble grace as we seek to glorify Him.
Week to week, we practice this God first key that endeavors to teach us the principal of humble gratitude, as well as supporting Gods servants with all they need to aid His hurting children, ( which will be available to help us in our hour of need...) It reminds us that all our increase came from the hand of God.
While our fleshly desires will be quick to give us a myriad of reasons of why and how to spend that money on ourselves... there are more valuable reasons to continue in this discipline... Gods holy will... and an everlasting promise of supernatural provision. Let us remember too, there may come a time in our own life that calamity causes us to fall into a position of great need...
Malachi ; 3, 10-11
"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse that there may be food in My house. Try Me now in this." Says, the Lord of hosts.
"If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing, that there will not be room enough to receive it..."
God is exceedingly patient with us as we grow. He knows our makeup, our weaknesses. During trials He draws closest to us, covers us with grace and whispers tenderly,
This too shall pass. I promise not to give you more than you can handle. I will help you, I want to give you your hearts desire. Draw close to Me, and I will help you. I love you my child.
Our Father in heaven knows that we will come out of our trials in a far greater state than whence we entered therein... Due to His Majesties most gracious and abundant mercies... without which we could not survive.
Do not despise your humble beginnings... For out of such He can do great and mighty works ... In our smallness Gods magnificence shines most brilliantly... His holy name is glorified through our humble obedience to His will ...
Never, ever think that you are too little for God to use . He requires only that your heart be open and willing... A humble heart IS necessary... anything else, God can provide. Oh that people would give themselves fully to the God of heaven and allow Him to work through them ! He lavishes grace upon those who love Him .
Give thanks to God for all things, at all
times... for His mercies are tender, abundant and endure forever ! We serve an awesome God !
